Through Class 10 and 12, with someone beside them
The board years decide a lot: which stream a student takes, whether they go on to college. We help students keep their dates, their fees and their confidence on track.
Why we focus here
The Class 10 and 12 board years come with fixed costs and fixed dates: the exam form, the fee, the practicals, the hall ticket. One missed fee or one missed date can cost a student a whole year. That is what we help with.
What we do for each student
-
We pay the board-year costs
Exam fees, practical fees, guides and past papers, travel to the exam centre, and Class 11 admission. We pay the school or the board ourselves, from Saathis' gifts.
-
We don't track attendance or marks
Studying is the student's own work, with their family and school. We don't collect report cards or check attendance. If a student wants extra lessons, our supervised volunteer teachers can help.
-
We keep the board dates
Every student in Class 10 or 12 has a checklist of their board's dates. The student's coordinator is reminded 14 days and 3 days before each one, and makes sure the family knows.

We help with what comes next
After results, we help students and families through admissions, and check for scholarships through our Scholarship Clinic.
Board-year needs you can fund
These appear as itemised needs on each student's Hold a Hand profile, with a real due date, so you can see what's needed and when.

What you'll hear from us
If you sponsor a student in these years, you'll get the same updates as every Saathi, like "Name's board exam fee has been paid", and your Rupee Trail shows each payment. We don't share marks or anything about the family, because that belongs to the student and the family.
A student's record stays private
We keep only what we need to pay the board-year costs and keep the dates: the student's class, board and exam dates. Only Saath Foundation staff who work with that student see it. It is never shown to sponsors, volunteers or the public.

We'll publish our first figures after the first board results.
Questions
Which students are part of this?
Students in Classes 8 to 12 who are supported through Hold a Hand, in partner shelter homes or in families.
Who gives the extra lessons?
Our police-verified volunteer teachers, in supervised online group sessions with a second adult present. Never one to one.
Does this mean every student will pass?
No one can promise that. What we can promise is that the board-year fees we take on are paid on time, and no exam date is missed for want of a reminder.
I'd like to help students prepare. Can I?
Yes. Apply to teach with us. Revision for Class 10 and 12, in any subject, helps.
