Where your ₹ went

You pay Saath Foundation. Saath Foundation pays the school, the bookshop or the optician. Here's how we keep track of every rupee in between.

From your gift to the vendor, in four steps

  1. Your gift arrives. We record it against the need or program you chose, or the general fund.
  2. Saath Foundation pays a vendor. When we pay a school fee, a bookshop bill or an optician, Finance records the payment against the need it met.
  3. We link the two. Each payment is allocated to the gifts for that need, oldest money first. These are ledger entries that are never edited, only added to.
  4. You see it. In your donor panel, each gift shows the vendor, category, date paid, amount and payment reference, plus anything still held.

Public totals, private detail

On this page (everyone)

Monthly spending by category, and the share spent on programs and on running Saath Foundation.

In your donor panel (signed in)

Your own gifts, down to each vendor Saath Foundation paid, with a copy of the bill where we've added one. Anything that could identify a child or a family is covered.

A school is named only to the verified Saathi of that child, with the guardian's consent, and never for a child in a partner home. Otherwise it shows as "a school in their district".

Vendor details are shared with you to show where your money went. Please don't contact a child's school or any vendor about a child. Doing so breaks our donor terms and suspends your account.

What Saath Foundation spent, by category

No spending has been reconciled for this month yet. Figures appear once we've matched them to our bank statement.

Money from abroad is spent from a separate FCRA account and shown in its own table.

The rules, in plain words

  • Oldest money first. When we pay for a need, we use the earliest gifts for it first.
  • If a need is overfunded: The extra goes to the next child on Hold a Hand, the one who has been waiting longest for support. You'll see the transfer in your Rupee Trail.
  • If a child leaves the program: Any unspent balance goes to the next child on Hold a Hand, the one who has been waiting longest for support. You'll see the transfer in your Rupee Trail.
  • Timing. Money given in March may be spent in May, when the term's fees fall due. "Still held" means waiting for the bill, not unused.
  • Transfers from abroad count only once they reach our FCRA account.
  • General fund gifts go where the need is greatest.
  • No cash to families for listed needs. We pay the vendor.

Questions people ask

Does all of my money go to the child?

Your money goes to Saath Foundation, and we pay for the need you chose. Your Rupee Trail shows exactly which vendor was paid and how much. Gifts to the general fund may also pay for running Saath Foundation, and we publish that share above.

Can I see the bill?

Yes, where we've added it. Next to the payment in your Rupee Trail you'll find a copy of the bill. Bills often carry details that could identify a child, so a colleague covers those before a second person checks the copy.

What does "Still held" mean?

Money that has arrived for a need but hasn't been paid out yet, usually because the bill isn't due.
